At LifeWorks Mental Health Counseling PLLC, we believe that deep emotional connection is not a luxury, it’s a human need.
That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of our Hold Me Tight® Couples Workshop in 2026, now offered at our Commack, NY location.
This powerful, evidence-based relationship workshop is designed to help couples reconnect, repair emotional injuries, and rebuild secure attachment.
Whether your relationship feels distant, stuck in conflict, or impacted by betrayal or unmet needs, this workshop offers a supportive space to strengthen your bond and rediscover emotional closeness.

Why Emotional Connection Matters in Relationships
Research in attachment science shows that romantic partners are each other’s primary emotional safe haven.
When connection breaks down, couples often experience:
Repetitive arguments that go nowhere
Emotional distance or shutdown
Feelings of loneliness within the relationship
Difficulty trusting after betrayal
Ongoing resentment or unresolved hurt
Many couples don’t lack love; they lack the tools to repair emotional disconnection.
The Hold Me Tight® model, developed by Dr. Sue Johnson and rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), helps couples move out of painful cycles and into secure, responsive connection.
What Is the Hold Me Tight® Workshop?
Our Hold Me Tight® workshop is a one-day, therapist-led experience that guides couples through five structured conversations, each designed to restore emotional safety and strengthen attachment.
This workshop is ideal for couples who want to:
Improve communication
Feel emotionally closer
Understand recurring conflict patterns
Heal attachment wounds
Rebuild trust
Deepen intimacy
Rather than focusing on surface-level relationship tips, Hold Me Tight® works at the emotional core of your unique bond.

The Five Core Conversations You’ll Experience
During the workshop, couples are gently guided through five attachment-focused conversations:
1. Recognizing the Demon Dialogues
Learn to identify your negative relationship patterns: the cycles that keep you stuck in blame, withdrawal, or defensiveness.
2. Finding the Raw Spots
Understand each partner’s emotional triggers and attachment sensitivities, helping you respond with empathy instead of reactivity.
3. Revisiting a Rocky Moment
Safely explore past conflicts or painful moments and reshape them into experiences of connection and understanding.
4. Hold Me Tight
Practice expressing vulnerable needs and creating moments of emotional closeness and reassurance.
5. Keeping Your Love Alive
Learn how to maintain connection over time through rituals, responsiveness, and ongoing emotional engagement.
For couples working through infidelity or attachment injuries, we may also include the “Forgiving Injuries” conversation, which supports healing after betrayal through accountability, emotional repair, and renewed trust.

Who Is This Workshop For?
The Hold Me Tight® workshop is helpful for couples who:
Feel disconnected or emotionally distant
Keep having the same arguments
Want to strengthen an already good relationship
Are healing from infidelity or broken trust
Want deeper emotional intimacy
Feel stuck but still care deeply about each other
No prior therapy experience is required, although therapy can be a supportive next step after the workshop.
